Relief from the Temple of Hercules
Ancient Roman marble relief from the Republican period which was found near the Temple of Hercules at Ostia, Italy. The scene on the right appears to show a statue of Hercules being dredged up from the sea in a fishing net, while the central scene shows Hercules handinga tablet with an oracle to a boy. The thirs scene could possibly relate to the interpretation of the oracle.
