Card Players by Paul Cezanne ca. 1892-1896
This painting, one of five Cezanne called Card Players, was stolen along with seven other paintings from a museum in Aix, France, in 1961. In recognition of the loss, the French government issued a stamp depicting Card Players. A few months later, the paintings were recovered after a ransom had been paid.
