Astronomical Stele
One of the pre-Toltec Santa Lucia Stelae from Santa Lucia Cozumahualpa, Mexico, this one showing a priest offering a sacrifice to a planetary deity. The priest is dressed as a player from the sacred ball game the progress of which was used to predict the future. Each stele records an astronomical event and the date it occurred.
